Document Requirements
Depending on the type of Indian eVisa, applicants are required to provide different documents as below:
► Indian e-Tourist Visa:
- Scanned Bio Page of the passport showing the Photograph and Details;
- Recent Personal Photo;
- Copy of letter from the institute/organization/hospital etc. concerned on its letter-head (if applying for attending short term courses);
- Copy of letter from the organization concerned on its letter-head (if applying for attending voluntary work of short duration).
► Indian e-Business Visa:
- Scanned Bio Page of the passport showing the Photograph and Details;
- Recent Personal Photo;
- Copy of Business Card;
- Copy of Invitation Letter;
- Any letter of invitation if applicable from Indian parties which wish you conduct the business (optional).
In case of applying for Indian e-Business Visa for delivering lectures under Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN), you need to provide below extra documents:
- Invitation of the host institute to the foreign faculty;
- Copy of the sanction order under GIAN issued by the National Coordinating Institute viz. IIT Kharagpur;
- Copy of the synopsis of the courses to be taken up by the faculty.
The documents are required to follow the guidelines as below:
► Scanned Bio-Page of the Passport Requirements:
- Passport: should have at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival in India and 2 blank pages
- Clearly show your biographical data (name, country of birth, date of birth, passport number, expiration date, etc...)
- Format: PDF
- Size: 10 - 300 KB
► Personal Photo Requirements:
- Format: JPEG
- Size: 10 KB - 1 MB
- Without borders
- Must show your full face, opening eyes, front view with a plain white or off-white background
- NO SHADOW on the face or on the background
- Show the full center head from the top of hair to the bottom of the chin
- DO NOT take a photograph or scan the photo in your passport.
- Must be taken within the past 6 months, showing your current appearance
- Must be in COLOR
- Must be taken in normal street attire. Uniforms should NOT BE worn in photographs except religious attire that is worn daily
- Do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline
- If you normally wear prescription glasses, a hearing device, wig or similar articles, they should be worn for your picture
- Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons. A medical certificate may be required.
Other scanned Document Requirements:
- Format: PDF
- Size: 10 KB - 300 KB
- Documents must be in English
Beside these documents, you also need a valid Credit/Debit Card (Visa/MasterCard) to complete the eVisa application.
